From Your Pastor

What's Your Acronym?
RADAR -- Radio Detection and Ranging.
TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More.
PRIDE - Professional Results In Daily Effort.
CEFGW - Close Enough For Government Work.

Ah, the handy - if somewhat annoying - acronym! A shortcut, shorthand aide to efficiency, motivation, and… um, sarcasm!

We are inundated with them. We Hoosiers are, for the first time in many years, on EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). In October we'll fall back to EST. If you work with computers you are familiar with RAM, ROM, CD, CDR, CDRW, DVD, DVDR… ad nausem. At church we face KJV, NKJV, NIV, NASB, NLT, RSV, NSRV, RSVP…!

A few years ago, marketers began selling WWJD merchandise. "What Would Jesus Do?" was plastered on everything from bracelets to tee shirts to coffee mugs, and much more. This was soon followed by FROG (Fully Rely On God) and WDJD (What Did Jesus Do?). These were meant to remind each one of us to live the life Jesus has called us to.   Did any of it work? Possibly.

What is my acronym? Well, technically, this isn't an acronym at all…. The B - I - B - L - E. Yes, that's the book for me! If you want learn WWJD and WDJD, and you want to FROG, then you need to dig into the BIBLE.
